Supported 130 Children with Special Needs

We have been able to support 130 children with special needs with therapeutic and nutritional services at their home-based setting, ensuring they receive proper care and support.

60 Patients on Hospice Care

We have 60 patients on hospice, all based at home, receiving the care they need in a comfortable and familiar environment with dignity and compassion.

Trained Over 80 Palliative Care Givers

We have trained over 80 palliative care givers and dispatched them to offer services in the community, building capacity for sustainable care.

Supporting 150 Widowers in the Community

We are currently supporting over 150 widowers in the community, helping them navigate through life after loss with counseling and practical support.

Health and Wellness Talks

We have conducted health and wellness talks in various organizations and institutes, educating the community on healthy living and preventive care.

Awarded African Most Influential CBO

We won the African Most Influential Community-Based Organization (CBO) award, recognizing our dedication and impact across the continent.

Key milestones in our decade of service to the community

2014 - Foundation Year

Western Home Based Care Initiative was founded with a vision to bring palliative care to underserved communities in Western Kenya.

2016 - First Major Recognition

Received our first community award for outstanding service in palliative care and community support.

2018 - Partnership with KEHPCA

Became official members of Kenya Hospice and Palliative Care Association, enhancing our service standards.

2020 - African Most Influential CBO Award

Honored with the African Most Influential Community-Based Organization award for our impactful work.

2023 - International Recognition
